PTSO conducts an annual donation drive with families donating to our operating budget. Forms are available in the administration building at the front desk and in the PTSO room 110.
PTSO believes in the value of recognizing our teachers and staff for their hard work. We have different celebration activities and always are looking for help.
In addition to our Annual Donation Drive, PTSO sponsors the Panther Run Jog-A-Thon. This event raises money to support our initiatives.
SMS recognizes and celebrates academic excellence, effective employment skills, and positive behavior. Renaissance creates a culture that honors high academic performance and excellent behavior and encourages all students to strive for the recognition. Students earn a variety of recognition opportunities each nine-week grading period, depending on the criteria they meet. Students earn Renaissance recognition with a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
Sarasota Middle School has a strong and supportive PTSO that encourages family involvement. The group coordinates volunteer and family involvement efforts. Opportunities for helping students include:
